How Notes work
Open NotesNotes is your farm’s logbook: what you see in the field, written down once and found again next season. A note can carry photos, tags and links to the plantings, crops and blocks it is about.
Keep one logbook for the whole farm
Open Notes in the menu, under My Small-Scale Farm. The list on the left shows your notes, pinned ones first, then the most recently changed. Click a note to read it on the right.

Know what a note holds
A title and some text, up to five photos, tags such as Pests or Irrigation, and links to the plantings, crops and blocks it talks about. Heirloom saves as you type.
Share it with your team, or keep it to yourself
Everyone on your farm’s team sees a note, unless you make it private: then only you can see it, change it or delete it.
Find notes where you work
When you open a planting from the Game Plan or the Crop Map, its Notes tab shows the notes linked to that planting, then the notes linked to its crop. A crop in the Crop Library has its own Notes tab too. A note linked to a crop comes back on every planting of that crop, season after season: last year’s observation is there when you plan again.

Jot it down from the Dashboard or your phone
Add the Notepad widget to your Dashboard to keep a quick thought, up to 300 characters, then click Convert to note to turn it into a note. The Heirloom mobile app has Notes too, with your phone’s camera to add a photo on the spot.
Next: write your first note.
