Set your nursery space and containers

Open the Nursery
2 minutes

Tell Heirloom how much table space your nursery has and how big your trays are. With those two answers, every planting in your plan turns into square metres of nursery, week by week.

Measure the space your trays can use

Count the surface of your propagation tables, not the floor of the greenhouse. Six tables of 1 m by 2 m make 12 m². Shelves count level by level: a 5 m² table with 3 levels gives 15 m² of nursery space.

Enter your nursery space

The first time you open the Nursery, a window asks for this surface. Type it and confirm, or click Remind me later.

Later, click the figure in the Nursery space box, next to the graph, type the new surface and confirm with the check mark. Your nursery space belongs to the farm: it applies to every season.

Give each container its size

Open Farm data from the menu, then Nursery containers. For each tray or pot you use, check the Number of cells, the Container width and the Container length. Heirloom multiplies the size of a tray by the number of trays a planting needs: a container without dimensions takes up no space in the graph.

Add your own containers

Click Add container for a format that is missing, such as a 200-cell tray or a paper pot chain, and fill in its cells and size. It then shows up in your plantings’ container list. The containers Heirloom provides open read-only: their cells and size are already set.

Hide the ones you never use

Turn off Visible on a format you never use: it leaves your lists without being deleted, and you can turn it back on at any time.
