Create a field block

Open the Farm Map
1 minute

Create a field block with its beds, place it where it really is, and turn it to match your rows. From its first season on, its beds are ready for your plantings.

Set your standard bed first

Most market gardens use one bed size across the farm. Set it once in your profile menu, Settings, Units & beds: every new field block starts with these dimensions, and you plan in beds instead of bed metres.

Create the field block

Click Add to map, then Field Block. Give it the name your team uses, such as B1 or North garden.

Fill in its beds

Enter the Number of beds. The Bed length, Bed width and Path width come from your standard bed; change them if this block is different. The drawing on the right shows the block as you type.

The Beginning year is the first season the block exists. Heirloom counts its beds in your growing space from that season on and leaves earlier seasons as they were.

Click Create. The block appears in the middle of the map.

Place it and turn it

Click the block to select it, then drag it where it sits on your land. Use the angle slider in the bar at the top to turn it until its beds follow your real rows, then click Done.

Your new block is now in your Crop Map, bed by bed, ready to receive plantings.
