Game Plan

How do I plan a winter or year-round growing season?

Plan all twelve months in one season and your winter crops sit next to your summer ones, so nothing under cover gets forgotten. Set Season starts in to the month your growing year begins, in Settings, Season & climate: each season covers the 12 months from there. See Set up your farm.

Game Plan of the 2027 season with garlic, spinach, tomato, carrot, beet and five lettuce plantings on the timeline, light frosts shaded
One row per crop, one bar per planting, from nursery to harvest

Give each planting its Location type, field, greenhouse or a type of tunnel, so winter greens are planned under the structure they grow in, and save a filter preset to see your covered crops in one click. Turn on Show light frosts and Show hard frosts to see which plantings go through the cold weeks. See How the Game Plan works.

Crops that cross the end of a season, like fall garlic or spinach overwintered under a tunnel, show in both seasons. When you start next year, Duplicate season with Include plantings that overlap brings them along. The steps are in Duplicate your season.
