Add and adjust cultivars
Open the Crop LibraryAdd a variety the library does not have, or adjust one of Heirloom’s to match your seed packet. The seed weight you enter is what Heirloom uses to tell you how much seed to order.
Look before you create
Search the Cultivars tab first. If a variety is missing, check that its seed company is in your library: see Choose your seed companies.
Create a cultivar
In a crop, under Quick actions, click Create cultivar, or use Create cultivar from the arrow of the main button. Choose the Crop if it is not set, then type the Name.
As you type, Heirloom shows the similar cultivars that already exist. If yours is there, add it to your favorites instead of making a duplicate.

Fill in what your seed packet says
Description: taste, habit, storage, what your team should know. Days to maturity: as printed on the seed packet. Seed weight: Thousand-seed weight or Seeds per unit, for regular and pelleted seed. Seed companies: where you buy it. Click Create cultivar: it goes straight into your favorites for the season.

The seed weight turns the seeds your plantings need into grams or ounces to order, in Season needs of the Seeds Inventory. Without it, Heirloom can count seeds but not weigh them.
Adjust one of Heirloom’s cultivars
Your packet says 55 days, the library says 58? Open the cultivar and click Edit cultivar. You can change the description, the days to maturity and the seed weights, and add a seed company. The name and the seed companies Heirloom lists stay as they are.
Your changes apply to your farm only. Reset to defaults brings back the library’s values and keeps the seed companies you added.

Your values follow the cultivar into the Game Plan: a new planting of Napoli, set here to 55 days, opens with 55 days to maturity instead of the library’s 58. Plantings already in your plan keep their own values.
Edit or delete a cultivar of your own
Open it, then Edit cultivar to change any field. You can delete it as long as no planting uses it.
