Check what seed your season needs

Before you order, see variety by variety how much seed your Game Plan needs, how much is already on the shelf, and what is missing, sorted by the date you sow first.

Open Season needs

In Seeds Inventory, open Season needs. It shows the season picked in the top bar, one row per variety of your Game Plan. The Seeds pill tells you how many varieties are covered: enough seed on hand for every planting.

Read each row

Required is the seed all the plantings of that variety need this season. On hand is what your lots hold, whatever the year you bought them. Difference is green when you have enough, red with the number of seeds missing. First seeding is the date you need the seed by, so order the earliest ones first.

Know where Required comes from

Heirloom counts it from each planting: bed length divided by the spacing on the row, times the number of rows, plus your Seeds safety margin. For a nursery planting, it multiplies by the seeds per cell. Change a planting in the Game Plan and the row follows.

Pick a variety for each planting

A planting left on Generic is never covered, because a lot always belongs to a named variety. Choose the cultivar in the planting, then add its lot: the row turns green once you have enough.

Fill the gap

Open the row menu and choose Add a lot: the crop and cultivar are already filled in. See Add seed lots. Use Export to take the season’s requirement to your seed company: each variety with its seed count, weight when known, and first dates.

Plan the plants you buy

Plantings grown from purchased transplants appear under the Transplants pill, counted in plants. Purchased adds up the transplant lots linked to that planting.
