Let each sowing take its seed from the right lot, correct a count after a recount, and find out where every seed went.

Turn on automatic deduction

Click the settings button at the top right of Seeds Inventory to open Advanced settings, then turn on Deduct seeds automatically. It is off until you choose it, and only an owner or admin can change it. Seed weight unit sets the unit used for weights across the inventory.

Complete your sowings

When a Direct seeding or Nursery sowing task is marked done, on the computer or the phone, Heirloom takes the seed it needs from that variety’s lots, oldest purchase first. Open the task to see Seeds taken from: each lot and how many seeds came out of it. Undo the task and the seed goes back to the shelf. Plantings left on Generic are not deducted.

Correct a count

After a recount, click Adjust stock, pick the lot and type the New quantity you counted. Heirloom shows the Change; add a Reason such as "Recount before ordering" and click Adjust.

Read the history

Movements lists every change with its date, lot and seed company: Purchase, Auto seeding, Seeding, Seeding correction and Adjustment. Filter by crop, cultivar, seed company or movement. From the row menu, Open task jumps to the sowing, and Edit movement or Delete movement fixes a mistake; the balance is recalculated.

Empty a lot without losing its story

When a packet is finished or goes to the compost, Delete on the lot brings its quantity to zero. Its history stays, so your records still show where it came from and where it was sown.
