How do I prepare my seed order over the winter?

Plan the season first, and Heirloom turns it into your seed order: for each variety, what your plantings need, what you already have and what is missing, before your first seeding date. No more ordering twice, or coming up short in spring.

  1. Plan your plantings in the Game Plan. In the Crop Library, bookmark the cultivars you will sow: they come first when you plan.
  2. Give each cultivar its seed weight, a Thousand-seed weight or a number of Seeds per unit, so Heirloom can weigh your seed in grams or ounces.
  3. Open Season needs in the Seeds Inventory. Each variety shows what is Required, what is Covered by the seed you have, the Difference and its First seeding date. Click Record purchase to log the seed you bought.
  4. When you add a supplier with Create seed company, turn on Organic certificate on file once you hold its certificate: you know which ones to ask for with your order.
