Harvests
How do I run a CSA with Heirloom?
You fill the shares from what your beds will really give that week, not from a guess, and Heirloom turns them into the crew’s harvest list. Here is how the season runs:
- Create a sales channel for the CSA, with its Start date, End date and the days you harvest for pick-up. A winter CSA from November to March works too: the period can cross the new year. See Set up your sales channels.
- Each week, in Weekly Harvests, type the total of each crop for the day’s shares, next to each planting’s Availability. A cell turns yellow before you promise more than a bed has. See Plan the week’s harvests.
- Heirloom puts it all in one harvest task per planting and per day, with the Total to harvest, so the crew picks each bed once.
- At the end of the season, Season Harvests narrowed to the CSA channel shows what your members really received, valued at your planting prices. See Compare season harvests with the plan.
Heirloom plans and records the harvest side of the CSA; it does not manage member sign-ups or payments.
